Mandatory Update: BSC v1.8.2 is a mandatory upgrade for all BSC Mainnet node operators, MEV builders, and sentry operators.

This release schedules the Jenner hardfork on the BSC Mainnet. The activation is set for 2026-12-08 at 02:30:00 UTC. All nodes must be upgraded before this time to remain in sync with the network.

Jenner Hardfork Features:
The hardfork will introduce several new capabilities through the following BEPs:

BEP-702: Compliant Asset Standard - Introduces CAS20 stateful precompiles, enabling a new standard for compliant assets. Note that token creation under this standard will require separate activation by a governance-appointed administrator.
BEP-703: Payment Lane - Reserves a portion of block gas (5% by default) for eligible BNB transfers and transactions to whitelisted payment contracts. This helps ensure payment transactions can be processed even during periods of high network congestion.
BEP-706: Millisecond Timestamp - Exposes millisecond-level block time through a new precompile (`0x70`), while the existing `block.timestamp` will continue to provide time in seconds.

MEV Enhancements (Non-Fork):
This version also incorporates important improvements for the MEV ecosystem:

Faster BidBlock Transport: A new gRPC endpoint with RLP-encoded binary payloads offers a more efficient alternative to JSON-RPC, reducing overhead for MEV builders.
Stronger Security: The node will now reject `BidBlocks` with a zero-state-root and automatically revoke builders who submit invalid blocks, with revocations persisting across restarts.
Improved Observability: New metrics have been added to monitor bad `BidBlocks` and builder revocations.

Upgrade Procedure:
To upgrade, simply replace the binary and restart your node before the activation time.

- **Stronger validation and builder revocation:** rejects zero-state-root BidBlocks, revokes local `SendBidBlock` access on cross-validator bad-block evidence, and persists revocations across restarts.
