This release introduces a key new feature for miners and improves overall network stability.
Feature: Optional Transaction Gas Limit Cap
A new optional flag, --miner.txgaslimit, is now available. This allows miners to set a maximum gas limit for individual transactions they will accept into their blocks. By default, this limit is disabled (set to 0).
This feature provides validators with greater control over block composition and helps prevent potential issues caused by excessively large transactions. Any transaction exceeding the configured cap will be rejected.
Improvement: More Stable Peer Connections
The blocking handshake from the BSC protocol has been removed. This change will reduce the frequency of "Bsc extension Handshake failed" errors in node logs, which often occurred when peers disconnected. This leads to less log noise and a more robust peer-to-peer connection process.
Other Improvements:
The release also includes updated filtermaps checkpoints, a routine update that helps improve the node synchronization experience.
